Hello I’m Michelle,
Pilates with Michelle is situated 2 miles north of the beautiful city of Winchester on the edge of the South Downs National Park. I have a purpose-built Pilates Studio in Kings Worthy offering one to one and shared sessions. I also teach mat work classes for groups of up to 12 at Woodhams Farm in Kings Worthy.
My aim is to offer a calm and friendly environment for everyone to enjoy Pilates. A space and time to make you feel good in your own body and focus on yourself.
I try to cater for all needs and levels of experience. Whether you are looking to join a group class to help you move better or if you are recovering from an injury and want a more bespoke session, I hope I can help you.
What is Pilates?
Pilates is slow, controlled flowing movements performed with thoughtful awareness, body and mind, working together. Helping you to have greater body awareness, release areas of tension and calm your mind.
Each Pilates session is based around 8 principles:
- Relaxation
- Concentration
- Alignment
- Breathing
- Centring
- Stamina
- Flowing movement
- Co-ordination
Mat work classes at Woodhams Farm, Winchester will lead you through a sequence of exercises taken from the 8 Principles of Pilates. It will be a balanced workout, working all muscle groups. We often use small pieces of equipment like; Toning Circles, Foam Rollers, Pilates Balls, hand weights and Therabands. Small equipment is used to assist and give you feedback to your workout.
My Studio on Springvale Road is equipped with Reformer, Tower and a Pilates Chair. Working on equipment gives you a more enhanced workout and allows you to work on a more individual basis, enabling you to target specific needs. Great for rehabilitation. Interested?
